You do. Every transaction is signed in your own wallet and funds move directly between your addresses and the route's contracts. index never takes custody, so it can't freeze, lend, or lose your coins.

When you sell an ERC-20 token, index first tries a gasless route: you sign a typed message, a relayer submits the transaction, and costs are settled from the trade itself — no gas token needed. Pairs that aren't eligible fall back to a standard swap automatically.

Same-chain swaps are priced through 0x — professional market makers plus aggregated on-chain liquidity. Cross-chain swaps, including Bitcoin, route through SwapKit. Either way, the full route is shown before you commit.

Why did my quote change?

Accepted Answer

Quotes are live. Liquidity, network fees, provider availability, and market prices can move between refreshes. If a quote expires or looks different, review the amount, fees, price impact, and route again before signing.

What happens after I sign?

Same-chain swaps submit a wallet transaction or gasless authorization. Cross-chain swaps may show a deposit address and a status tracker. Once you send an on-chain transaction or manual deposit, index cannot edit or recall it, so send the exact amount to the exact address and memo, if one is shown, before the timer expires.
